5.0 out of 5 stars Probably my favorite of the Marvel Superheroes Line, April 19, 2012

I'm a recent convert to the cult of Lego collecting. I grew up with the toys, but was brought back into the fold as an adult. And being a huge comic book fan growing up, this Marvel line has been something that I've really looked forward to.

Of all the new Marvel sets, the Wolverine Chopper Showdown is probably my favorite (though I'm still waiting on the Quinjet, so we'll see). It's certainly a good value for the money as far as the mini figures are concerned. But the actual set's pretty cool too.

MINIFIGS:
1. Wolverine - An awesome figure. He's here in his classic comic book outfit, sans mask (although you can see it rolled down on the back printing). The claws look better than I thought they would and I'm happy that they're removable. The hair is perfect Wolverine-style.

2. Magneto - The best X-Men villain, this figure is very loyal to the comics. Would have been cool to have included a hair piece for when his helmet was off, but this is still... Read more

Two words. Wolverine. LEGO. What more can you want? Oh, how about Magneto and Deadpool. I'm not a huge Deadpool fan, but the Magneto mini-fig is pretty awesome.

My son and I really had fun putting it together. It's not a super complex set, but it's challenging enough for the price. The helicopter has some great detail from the blades, missiles, and storage for Deadpools weapons. Marvel characters in LEGO form is something I've wanted to see since I was little.

If you like Marvel (specifically the X-Men), this is a great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding effort for this X-Men set by Lego!, April 25, 2012

Lego's first ever attempt at Marvel superheroes is a slam dunk. So far I am very impressed with all of these sets, but IMHO this one takes the cake. I know 6868 is a bigger, more elaborate set. And I know that EVERYONE is just going gaga over the Hulk "mini" figure, but I gotta agree with what Nick said in his review before me. This one is definitely the best bang for your buck.

First of all the figures in this set are based off of the comics rather than the movies. Don't get me wrong. I really do like what Lego has done with figures like Thor, Iron Man and Loki. But as a traditionalist and one time hardcore collector of many of the Marvel titles, I gotta give the nod to those figures whose designs are based off of the comics rather than the Hollywood flicks.

In this set you get three of the most popular characters in the entire Marvel universe and each one looks better than the next. All of them are incredibly detailed. And all of them are about as accurate as... Read more
